What makes one city different from the other? According to Edward T. McMahon in The Distinctive City, “A sense of place is a unique collection of qualities and characteristics – visual, cultural, social, and environmental – that provide meaning to a location. Sense of place is what makes one city or town different from another, but sense of place is also what makes our physical surroundings worth caring about.”
As such, besides strategic urban planning, site-specific public art are punctuations that bestow diverse points of access into the site’s history and vision. This guided sculpture tour offers a narrative of the site, information about the sculpture and its site-specificity in an interactive and engaging stroll.
