Joey is a Singapore artist, and in 2008 co-founded independent local arts collective – Artists Caravan (AC). Joey’s artworks are primarily site-responsive installation, engagement and/or sculpture. Her investigation explores practices and phenomena of everyday life that dabble with the notion of collective consciousness to impact matter. The times undertaking her Masters in Fine Arts in Melbourne (2016, UniMelb, VCA) and Bachelor of Fine Arts in Sydney (2008, UNSW,COFA), are main contributors that piloted her inquiry. Joey-spl.com

Artist Statement
Moving forward and looking back,
moment by moment,
we are moving forward and looking back.
Beholden for that point of reference – that beaconing lighthouse in the form of (a) person, action(s), moment(s).
The gentle man in his black shoes epitomised steadfastness, transience, and authentic poetry in action in this cyclical impermanence.
Looking back and moving forward in gratitude to micro-moments, to the guardian, the mentor, the beacon in each of our lives.
